Episode Transcript

Ladies and Gentlemen and all of us who are neither and/or both, welcome to the Trans Louisiane, the podcast of the Louisiana Trans Oral History Project.

My name is Sophia Ziegler, and I’m so delighted to be here and so happy you are here with me, and I’m especially delighted to say that this is the last episode of season one.

In this episode we’re forgoing our usual format. Instead of hearing interview segments and a song of the month, today we’re doing all music. Every musician featured here today is trans or gender nonconfirming and based in Louisiana. Learn more about each on the show notes for this episode.

But first, there are so many people to thank: It’s been a short season, full of short episodes, but believe me: when you have this little experience with podcasting, every single episode is an adventure.

And for that reason, this has been a wild ride indeed. I’m so eager to thank the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities that provided the funds for many of the interview transcripts, and Dre Tarleton who worked as our transcriptionist. You can find full interview transcripts to interviews and podcast episodes on our website, LouisianaTransOralHistory.Org. Also a big thank you to all our interviewees: Camilla Marchena, Dani Deanne, Lola Jean Darling, and Elliot Wade. Big thank you to all the musicians who have been on previous episodes, including Goosetheeth, Lola Jean Darling, Merry Cherry Bomb, and Kei Slaughter. A special thanks to Nathalie Nia Foulke who co-hosted with me on episode 4. If you haven’t heard that one yet, I really think you’re going to love it. Big love to Caroline Ziegler for all the editorial work on every episode.

And lots and lots and lots of hearts for all our wonderful patrons. Without you we would not be able to distribute funds to the trans and gender nonconforming folks across Louisiana. If you like our project and you also want to help, please find us at Patreon.com/LouisianaTansOralHistory

I now turn it over to our guest musicians to introduce themselves and their songs. Until we see each other again, y’all, be safe and tell the ones you love them that you love them.
