Documenting Resistance Internship Opportunity

The Idea

The 2021 and 2022 Louisiana legislative sessions saw a number of anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ bills introduced and debated. LaTOHP is working to gather information about these proposed laws and the trans/queer resistance to them.

The Internship:

  • Open to undergrad and graduate students

  • 60 hours

  • Completely virtual (with opportunities to do some work in person in Baton Rouge, if desired)

The Work:

  1. Capture images/graphics/videos/etc created by organizers/organizations/protesters active during this time frame (we have lists and have permissions)

  2. Capture local news articles related to the bills and to the resistance

  3. Do light cataloging (enough description so we won’t forget what it is)

  4. Upload content to Box

  5. Assist with documentation

  6. Help promote the collection

The Compensation:

  • $8/hour

  • Public credit for all work
